About
I care about solving complicated problems alongside good people. With a specialty in getting to the root of users's needs, I create functional, elegant designs that secure a win-win for businesses and their users.
Quick facts:
I partner with startups to help them translate user research findings into simplified designs and on-brand app interfaces.
I've designed products in highly complex and constrained environments such as cybersecurity, immigration services, and veterans' education benefits, so I'm comfortable making trade-offs while still advocating for the user experience.
I used to lead design thinking workshops in college. Now I bring that same skillset to multi-method product discovery processes and facilitate design sprints with engineering & product teams.

Isn't it cold in Maine?
Winters are definitely cold! But we embrace the season with snowshoeing, skiing, sauna and cold plunges, etc. Plus, it makes us appreciate our gorgeous summers.

Enough about Maine. What are your strengths as a designer?
I'm strong at defining the problem and creating a shared language for teammates to get behind. I keep close tabs on competitor products, and offer on-the-fly design solutions to bring teammates along for the collaborate journey.

What kinds of subject matter have you worked on?
Passwordless authentication technology — designed both for the IT admins configuring authentication settings and for the end user who just wants to seamlessly log in to their devices and resources. I've also designed applications for federal agencies and can talk more about that live. Plus a mix of B2C & B2B products.

So you didn't go to a bootcamp? How'd you teach yourself product design?
I took a job as a project manager/office manager at a UX agency, and my day-to-day responsibilities afforded me the chance to listen to talented designers explain their work. In my free time, I learned how to use Figma and practiced copy work, then began producing unsolicited redesign projects before taking on internships and contract work.

Got it. Any chance you play basketball?
Yeah I'm actually captain of a co-ed team that's been playing for over a year. Proud to say that it's been a helpful way to build community... and we've racked up a few championships in the process.
